Current Skincare Favorites

I am always trying out new products and my bathroom counter is constantly cluttered with an array of skincare goodies.

Through my skincare/acne journey I’ve been using some new products that I’ve fallen in love with. I figured why not share with you some products that I’ve been showing some love to.

Glow Recipe was a brand that I’ve always seen youtubers and beauty influencers use but I’d never tried. After some research and FOMO I caved and made a purchase. They were running a promo on their site to try out some products and I was sold.

The biggest game changer for me from that purchase was the Watermelon Glow PHA + BHA Pore Tight Toner. This stuff CHANGED IT ALL for me! I feel like I’ve been doing skincare all wrong before using this toner. First and foremost the packaging is stunning and the smell is worth singing about (harry styles anyone?).

The most important thing for me in this product is the PHA (Poly Hydroxy Acids) which gently exfoliates the skin. This is magic for peeps with acne. The BHA (beta hydroxy acid) literally unclogs pores while hydrating! Those two ingredients are perfect for me because I’m on the acne struggle bus and my skin is dry af.

But what you really wanna know about this product is what of results did I have? Well I saw a major improvement immediately. My acne started to clear up and all active pimples I had pretty much dried out. Now my acne isn’t fully gone unfortunately but this toner seriously helps my skin feel and look 100 times better. My skin feels plump and hydrated with this toner even without moisturizer.

Next up on the list is the best moisturizer from The Ordinary. A friend told me about this brand and at first glance I thought these products were way out of my budget but $8 for a moisturizer?? Sign me up!

I use Natural Moisturizing Factors + HA. It’s mainly for surface hydration so I would recommend to layer up or use a serum with this moisturizer. With that being said I do use this every single day. I find that it really helps when I apply makeup – it’s a great primer so to speak for dry skin. The Hyaluronic Acid really is the shining star in this product!

The main thing I love about this particular product is that you only need the smallest amount. When I was reading reviews peeps were saying a little goes a long way and I was thinking there was no way. All the creams I’ve tried I’ve needed to use so much because my skin is so dry. Funny story, when I got this product in the mail I applied it and used WAY too much and ended up looking so greasy so don’t do that. A LITTLE GOES A LONG WAY – please trust me lol.

This next product purchase is all thanks to TikTok. Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask has replaced all my lip balms. This is a leave-on mask that hydrates and smooths your lips. It’s made for you to use overnight which is what I started off doing but now I use it day and night.

I apply this as my first step in my makeup routine and my lips feel so smooth and plump. I don’t find myself needing to reapply any lip balm throughout the day and my lipstick lasts longer if I’m wearing this underneath. The same advice from my previous favorite applies to this mask. You definitely don’t want to use too much or your lips are going to look super greasy and sorry but that’s not a look.

For my last fave we are circling back to Glow Recipe. Their Watermelon + AHA Glow Sleeping Mask is the perfect last step to anyone’s skincare routine. This mask uses AHA (alpha hydroxy acid) to exfoliate and help remove dead skin cells. This is really helpful for anyone with acne.

The consistency of this mask is my favorite thing it’s almost like a gel /jelly like consistency. The smell is just as good as the watermelon toner and I believe this product is the reason most of my acne went away.

You want to use as the very last step in your routine only before bed and wash it off the next morning. When I tell you this product saves skin I’m telling you the TRUTH! The first night I used this I had so many active breakouts and when I woke up the next day my skin was so much brighter, I had a more even complexion, and all my active breakouts were pretty dried out or gone.

I use this product once a week and it’s honestly like getting a mini facial. If you have acne prone skin I highly recommend this product, you will notice an immediate difference.

That wraps up my current skin care favorites. I am constantly trying new products and am always open to suggestions on new products. Always remember to do your research before impulse buying or buying from TikTok (like I did but it actually worked out lol). Please comment and tell me what your current favorite skin care product is. I would love to know! xoxo
